Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take requests?

Yes! Feel free to tell us your favourites from our repertoire, and we're happy to learn one special request for each event. This could be a first dance, a song to play the bride down the aisle, or your favourite song to close your party!

Do you have your own PA and lighting?

We bring our standard PA and lights to every show at no extra cost. If you already have a sound system we're happy to use it, but if you don't, then you don't need to hire any extra equipment for us.

How long do you play for?

We usually play for a total of two hours, split into two hour-long sets. We also offer an extra hour-long acoustic set, ideal for a drinks reception or cocktail hour.

What happens before/between/after your sets?

Anything you like! We can play pre-mixed playlists - either ours or something you send us in advance - or hand over to your DJ. We also offer a DJ upgrade, where a band member will select and mix tracks as well as take requests.

Our venue has a noise limiter, can we still book you?

We're highly experienced in dealing with noise limiters, and we usually don't have a problem with them. Put us in contact with your venue and we'll make sure we have all of the relevant information to plan around it. We also have an electric drum kit upgrade available for venues with particularly stringent noise restrictions.

Can you play outside?

So long you can provide power (and a plan B in case of inclement weather), we can play anywhere you'd like us. We also offer a battery-powered PA upgrade for outdoor performances where no power is available.

How far will you travel?

We play a lot around the South of England, but we often travel much further afield. We're happy to put together a quote to play anywhere in the UK (or the world!)

Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

Yes, we're happy to provide certificates on request.

How long do you take to set up?

We prefer to have 90 minutes between the earliest time we can have access to the performance space and the start of our performance, which will include a short soundcheck.

Can you provide music for our wedding ceremony/drinks reception/cocktail hour?

Yes! Get in touch with us and we'll work with you to build a bespoke package, including acoustic sets.

What is the difference between the 'pre-mixed DJ service' that comes with the standard package and the 'band member to DJ live' which is an optional extra?

The pre-mixed DJ service is where the band put on a bespoke playlist (you can request up to 30 songs in advance for this) through the PA before and after their live sets. We do this at most events and it works great - the volume of the music would be the same as if you had a DJ.

If you upgrade to the live DJ service, you can still send over preferences in advance, but you will also have a band member selecting and mixing tracks live on the night, as well as taking requests. The DJ will be happy to make important announcements but they will not talk constantly over or between tracks (that's just not our style!). We also think it's important to say that the DJ won't have a separate DJ booth - they will set up in an appropriate space (ideally to the side of the stage) and the PA/lighting will be the same as what is being used by the band.

Do we need to provide food and drinks?

Our standard rider is soft drinks and a hot meal for each musician, or a £15pp buyout.

How much space do you need?

We have fit in some very tight spaces, but we look and sound best when we have at least 2.5m by 5m.

How much power do you need?

Two standard 13A sockets is usually fine.

We have something unique planned, can we talk to you about how you can fit into our vision for the event?

We'd love to hear from you! Use our contact form or email us at [email protected] to talk to us about what we can do for your event. We can accommodate most requests, and in the rare cases that we can't help, we'll refer you to someone who can.

Got another question?

If you have a question about us or what we do that we didn't answer here, or want to talk to us about your event, please fill in the form or send us an email.

We look forward to hearing from you!
